We’re pleased to announce our refreshed integration with MailChimp. MailChimp was one of our very first integrations. We figured it was time to revisit it to provide even more useful functionality.
Two-way sync!
The biggest change is that we now support two-way contact syncing between MailChimp and BatchBook. Now you can have new subscribers in MailChimp come over to BatchBook. You can also add contacts in BatchBook and have them sync to your MailChimp lists.
More highlights:
- If you use groups in MailChimp to segment your list, these groups are then used to create a custom SuperTag in BatchBook. Any changes to data in the groups or supertag will sync to the other service.
- From within Batchbook, you can now view AIM information to see opens, clicks, etc. on the contact detail page of each linked contact.
- A new MailChimp dashboard widget in Batchbook shows your recent campaign stats.
For more detailed information, check out the updated FAQs and have a look at this quick screencast showing the new Batchbook/MailChimp features in action.

Feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of contacts you need to wade through every day? Not sure which contact to call on next, or which task should take precedence? You may be suffering from contact overload.
It is very easy to get to the point where you are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of contacts in your CRM. The good news is, with a few tweaks, it is also pretty easy to bring your contacts under control. When you do it right, you can build meaningful relationships with your most important contacts.
Minimize contacts
The first rule of thumb for controlling contact overload is to avoid having too many contacts in your system. Be realistic about what your business can accomplish. Thousands of cold leads from a list you bought may just get in the way of meaningful interactions with qualified prospects and active customers.
There is nothing wrong with a list of cold prospects that could turn into customers one day. Its just that you need to be strategic and organized in how you handle a large amount of contacts. It is far better to segment that list out from your active group of contacts that you are having ongoing interaction with.
Batchbook is best used to build and maintain relationships with customers and other important contacts (including qualified prospects). Focusing your primary efforts here will help you avoid the feeling of being overwhelmed by the sheer number of people that you think you need to reach. Instead, move qualified leads and customers to the front of the line, and use Batchbook to better manage you relationships with them.

You may have noticed some slight changes around the site. If not, take a look in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. We’ve just begun introducing the new Batchbook Logo. It’s part of a larger re-branding effort for BatchBlue.
Since its beginnings in 2006, BatchBlue Software has been a one-product company, and our product and company identities have been somewhat interchangeable. For a while, we were so focused on making our product as great as we could that we didn’t worry about it. But that’s changing as we grow.
This past year, in addition to introducing some cool new integrations to Batchbook, we’ve been hard at work building some new tools. These new products will obviously have their own respective names and logos, and we’d like Batchbook to fit in with the family. If you look around, you’ll see that we’ve rolled out a new identity for Batchbook.

The mark, Flippy (as he’s affectionately known around the office) is lighter and open at a more comfortable looking angle. The pages are lighter and the progressive gradient makes them double as motion lines a little more readily. We simplified some fussy details, and finally, the geometry of our well-loved laptop actually works now.

The decorations are up and the turkey’s been eaten, which can only mean that the winter holidays are officially upon us. I know, I know, you’re thinking ‘Wait – didn’t I just finally put my beach chair in the car?’ The good news is that organizing with BatchBook can help take away some of that stress and help keep your holidays full of mirth and merriment.
Here are a few of my favorite tips on how BatchBook can make your holidays brighter this year:
Make holiday card sending a snap
- Start by creating a new tag for your holiday cards and tag everyone you’d like to mail to (for instance “holiday10″).
- Search though your other tags to find groups of people you’d like to include and BatchAdd these folks to your new holiday tag in one fell swoop.
- Want to use your holiday cards to help reconnect with folks you haven’t communication with in a while? Use our handy dandy “record communicated with” Advanced Search to find folks you haven’t spoken with since Valentines Day.
- You can build a list using your new tag name with a click of a button. Then check out which labels we support and print your mail labels right from BatchBook!
- Another option: send your list over to MailChimp or export your list to Tiny Prints and let them do the hard work for you!

When we started working on BatchBook waaaay back in 2006, we set out to create the best darn CRM ever. Along the way, we’ve looked to our customers for input as we added partner integrations and feature upgrades. BatchBook customers have driven the development of BatchBook as much as we have.
But we can’t do everything, which is why we made sure that we made our API available to anyone who wanted to build something cool using BatchBook. Today we’re launching a new page on our site that highlights the efforts of people who are updating, integrating and modifying BatchBook in ways we never even imagined.
Meet the BatchMakers!
From our friend Kurt Milam who’s been building a multitude of ways to get data in and out of BatchBook to Michael Doornbos who used SuperTags to build a visual scoreboard for Lunar X Prize participants, we’ve seen some pretty amazing stuff come from the minds of our clever users. And we’re looking forward to seeing more!
