Movember: Raising Money for Men’s Health with Mustaches

Most people don’t know that our VP of Tech, Sean Ransom, almost became a doctor. His first job out of school was working with a medical researcher who specialized in treating prostate cancer. Sean’s work involved building the databases that housed research that was helping to save lives. It was the databases that won him over, though, and his career soon took a turn in another direction.
When we heard about Movember, an international fund-raising effort that is raising money to fight prostate and testicular cancer, it was a given that we would participate. In addition to Sean’s early experience in this field, many other BatchBlue staffers have family members afflicted by these diseases (including my own father and uncle). We love our BatchBlue men (and sons and husbands and fathers and brothers) and want to keep them safe and healthy. Plus, we’re big fans of the mustache!
That’s how our official BatchBlue Movember team BatchStash came about. As you can see from the pictures, even the ladies got in on the action, proudly sporting fashionable pink mustaches as “Mo Sistas”.
Donations go directly to helping the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Livestrong (Lance Armstrong’s foundation).
Here’s a great video explaining what Movember is all about.
We’re hoping the silliness with the mustaches will bring a smile to your face, encourage you to think about these very serious diseases and contribute if you can.
Donate to Team BatchStash and may the ’stashe be with you!
