BatchBook Is Now Part of the Google Apps MarketPlace
You may have noticed the increased excitement around BatchBlue recently. We’ve been working on some new efforts and tonight we are announcing the launch of the BatchBook as a part of the Google Apps Marketplace, Google’s online storefront for Google Apps products and services. BatchBook is part of a diverse group of applications that will now be available for sign-up directly within all Google Apps customer’s accounts.
This marketplace represents an exciting new era in the world of small business management. Google has long been a leader in providing easy, affordable, reliable applications such as Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Docs for small businesses to use to run their businesses. With the launch of the Google Apps Marketplace, Google is now making it that much easier for their customers and all small businesses to find, set up and maintain their own grab bag of business applications without the overhead of IT installation and maintenance.
Why we love the new Google Apps Marketplace:
- It’s easy for small businesses to set up all of their applications at once.
- It is safe, reliable and very affordable.
- The integration between Google Apps Marketplace vendors means better results and less work for small businesses.
- The high caliber of companies in the Google Apps Marketplace means we know our customer’s are in good hands.
- We got to work with THE Google.
All of the applications included in the new Google Apps Marketplace integrate with the existing Google Apps products. So a small business user can now manage their communications in Gmail, automatically save those Gmail contacts as customers in BatchBook, easily invoice them using FreshBooks and collect payments using Google Checkout, then send an auto-response using MailChimp. All with a few quick clicks and without uploading/downloading separate files or duplicating entries into different systems.
We are very excited to be involved in the new Google Apps Marketplace. And we are excited by what this new era in cloud computing means for small businesses.

What if I am already a Batchbook customer? Do I pay an additional 9.95/mo for Google Apps integration?
Hey Tom – right now existing customers can’t connect accounts with Marketplace accounts, but we hope to be adding that functionality soon.
Check the blog and forums for updates, we’ll post ‘em as we’ve got ‘em!

Michelle,
Google Apps integration was THE thing I had been waiting for from Batchbook, since Gmail is where all of my communication is done.
Wouldn’t it have made sense to give existing customers – who are already fans of the service – the ability to port over?
Tom
I tried exporting my records from my one account and importing it into the new account, but Batchbook had trouble with it, but I don’t know why. Shouldn’t I be able to do this easily.
This is indeed very exciting. I agree with Tom – looking forward to the complete integration.
The day of being able to run my business from my iPhone is getting closer every day.
Jeff
I think this is the next step in Google’s vision when it developed Google Chrome browser. Google is definitely going after a piece of Microsoft’s pie and I think it starts with the average user where they won’t need the full capabilities of ie a MS Office Suite, but need some of the basic features. Exciting developments ahead!
Is there any place to find more details about the actual integration between Batchbook and Google Apps?
Is there new functionality here or is this simply that Batchbook is now listed in the Google Apps marketplace and it’s the exact same thing as if you were to sign up directly at the BatchBlue website or the Google Apps marketplace?
Here’s another vote for that. It looks tempting enough to cancel my existing batchbook account and resignup for Batch book through googleapps marketplace.
Promise me an availability time in the not to distant future so I don’t have to go through that trouble, please…

Hi all – Thanks so much for the positive feedback!
Yes, the first phase of this integration we focused on integrating the sign-up and navigation process within the Google Apps Marketplace. We’re now working on the ability to link existing BatchBook accounts over to the Marketplace and will then be adding some additional integration points to Google Apps. We’d love to hear what you’d like to see from BatchBook/Apps integrations – come share your thoughts on our forums. http://support.batchbook.com/discussions/updates-announcements/12
I’ve been logging into my Batchbook account all week and didn’t hear a peep about this until i found it through a third party. Would have been great to be notified of this future functionality from within my account.
Sorry about that, Chadd. This first release of our integration with the Google Apps Marketplace largely involves the sign-up process – not something you need if you already have an account. We are working now to link up existing BatchBook accounts with Apps accounts and add some additional integrations. And we will certainly work hard to spread the word as we start to roll out more functionality for you. Keep an eye out!
