After an intense round of judging the amazing entries in our “Work to Go” contest, we’re pleased to announce our Grand Prize winner as well as the runners-up! And the iPhone goes to…graphic designer/developer Gernot Bartels! Here’s his award-winning, work-to-going, piratey shot:

What pirate wouldn’t want to work in this cool vintage trailer with his dog at the beach? The BatchBlue staff gave this one two skull and crossbones up.
You can view the other winning pictures, read the entrants’ stories, and find out why we selected each of them over on the Work to Go contest page.

It’s November and once again, the boys of BatchBlue have kindly donated their upper lips to help raise money for a great cause, with the ladies helping out in other ways (like sporting these cool necklaces from KidViskous on Etsy). Our team BatchStache is participating in Movember, an international month-long effort to raise money to help fight prostate cancer.
We had so much fun doing it last year that we’re doing it once again! We’ve even ordered some inspirational computer mustaches from our friends at Smirkabout to keep us all motivated while we’re working and growing.
You can check out our progress and make a donation on our BatchStache Movember team site. At the end of the month, BatchBlue will match all donations, so every little bit really does help.
Please consider making a contribution to something we feel very passionate about. We love our menfolk and want to keep them healthy and strong!

We’ve noticed a lot of different types of organizations using BatchBook, which makes us happy knowing that we’ve built something that works so well for such varied customers. We love all of our customers and want to make it easier for them to get started with contact management since there can be a bit of a learning curve regardless of what system you end up choosing.
Recently, we’ve seen an increase in religious organizations using BatchBook to manage their contacts and congregation. Since we happen to know a great writer who uses BatchBook at her church, we asked her to help write a Blue Paper on the topic.
We’re pleased to present Contact Management for Congregations, written by the lovely and talented BatchBook customer Katy Killilea. Here’s the intro:
Like the members of a faith community, contact management requires care and nurturing. The information we need is in continuous flux and our tools should make dealing with that flux simpler. With a system that fits your group’s needs, managing the flow of information will not be arduous but instead liberating. When the information you need is updated and easy to find, your mind is less cluttered, mistakes are less likely, and you can grow with confidence.

The BatchBluers are doing a lot of traveling over the next few weeks, including hitting up PodCamp 5 in Boston, the Inbound Marketing Summit in Foxboro, MA, Providence’s amazing “A Better World by Design, PopTech in Camden, Maine and quite a few more.
For more details on any of these events, check out our updated Events page. We’ll be speaking at some of the events and just hanging out meeting folks and seeing sessions at others. Also, we’re about to launch something big so we’ve got some cool stuff to give away that’s related. If you see us, be sure to shake us down for some free schwag!
Have a great fall everyone! And as always, we hope to see you out there in the world. Because knowing you online is great, but meeting in person is even better.

As you may have heard, we’re hard at work developing an iphone app for BatchBook. This is something we’re very excited about and in preparation for the big event, we’ve asked two local filmmakers to help us get the word out.
Meet Ethan and Dylan, eight-year old twins with a passion for all things movie-related. The boys, sons of BatchBook customer and BatchBlue friend Anisa Raoof from kidoinfo.com, write about movies as Flick and Flack on their blog FlickFlackMovieTalk.com. They also recently completed a week of film camp at the very cool Kid’s Eye Summer Filmmaking Camp, and their directorial debut (complete with a walk down the red carpet!) screened this past weekend at the University of Rhode Island.
We’re proud to support these local, up and coming filmmakers and look forward to seeing what they come up with to showcase the awesomeness that will be the BatchBook iphone app.
In the meantime, we’re pleased to introduce you to Flick & Flack as they enjoy lunch from Mad Ernie’s Cafe in lovely Wayland Square!
